Chairman of the Board and Executive Director, FSC

A financial technology pioneer, Dr. Richard Smith is the founder of RiskSmith, a risk-management app for retail investors. As the former CEO and founder, he grew TradeStops to more than 30,000 retail investors who entrusted his technology with $20 billion. He has been featured in Business Insider, MarketWatch, Forbes, CNN Business, Newsweek, Money, BBC, and more.

Ray Tomes

Science Director, FSC

After joining the Foundation for the Study of Cycles (FSC) in the 1980s, Tomes spoke at numerous FSC conferences and ran a unit trust operating in futures markets. While studying cycles full time, he developed his groundbreaking Harmonics Theory to explain observed patterns of cycles and the entire structure of the universe. He founded the Cycles Research Institute, developed CATS cycles analysis software, and speaks internationally.

Lars von Thienen

Cycles App Developer and Board Member, FSC

Founder and CEO of a knowledge management company, von Thienen develops algorithms and software for cycles recognition. He has published two books on cycles analysis and invented a stand-alone, desktop search and knowledge management app. Watch von Thienen on Market Cycles Report every Monday at noon ET.

Sherman McClellan

Cycles Expert

Sherman McClellan and his late wife, Marian, developed the McClellan Oscillator and Summation Index in 1969. Over 50 years later, versions of it are included in several popular market analysis software packages. His book Patterns for Profit is still cited by technical analysts and is available from McClellan Financial Publications where Sherman and his son, Tom, have produced the McClellan Market Report since 1995. Sherman served on the board of the Market Technicians Association, now the CMT Association, from 2006 to 2009 and is also a member of AAPTA.
